Committees

Zakat Committee

It has been active since 1981, as it meets the needs of the less fortunate people, including Kuwaitis and other residents who cannot provide for the needs of their families due to inability to work, unemployment, absence of the breadwinner, or for health reasons. The committee obtains its financial resources to implement its objectives from the zakat funds of philanthropists.

It provides material assistance to approximately 1,000 families, both Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis, the financial status of the beneficiary cases is monitored periodically. Some cases that are no longer in need are canceled and new cases are added.

Feeding coupons

The Committee has been implementing and financing the feeding project by giving away preparing ration cards (paid coupons) that are distributed to needy families and give them the opportunity to obtain food supplies for free. The number of cases benefiting from them is 870 cases.

Scholar’s Committee

The committee has been established in 2015, as it provides scholarships to Arab school students and university students of all nationalities who are unable to pay their tuition fees.
