Believing in the centrality of the Palestinian cause and in the unity of destiny among the Arab peoples, the Society provided to the Palestinian cause and the support of the Palestinian people a large part of its efforts. We do not forget its prominent role in supporting the war effort in 1967 and 1973. However, the Society’s activities took another direction by establishing the “Kuwaitis for Jerusalem” Committee in 2000 after the outbreak of the second uprising. It is a joint committee between the Kuwaiti Alumni Association and the Women’s Cultural and Social Society. Its roots go back to 1988, when the Alumni Association established what is known as the (Arab Committee to Support the Uprising). This Committee is keen to strengthen solidarity between the Kuwaiti and Palestinian peoples, contribute to stopping the Judaization of Jerusalem and other holy sites in the occupied territories, and support development projects in the fields of health, education and rehabilitation.
