The Society opened its headquarters in Khalidiya to international relief organizations and institutions working to help the Iraqi people at the time. The Society provided offices, means of communication and office equipment for these organizations. Other activities during that period included organizing several seminars aimed at educating the Kuwaiti society about the reality of the region’s situation and future expectations, in addition to an awareness seminar on preventive measures in conditions of war. After the war stopped, a number of Iraqi delegations visited the Society to thank it in appreciation of its stance towards the Iraqi people at that time, most notably Mr. Ibrahim AlJaafari, the Iraqi Prime Minister at the time.
The Society also participated actively in the Fraternity Committee with the Iraqi People for the relief and assistance of the Iraqis expected to be affected as a result of the war. This enhanced the Society’s pioneering role in spreading a sense of patriotism and humanity.
